Hampshire Council Hires New Director of Energy Operations

Northampton–The Hampshire Council of Governments (HCOG) announced the hire of a new Director of Energy Operations today. Sinead Coleman reported to her first day of work on September 12, 2016. The position of Director of Energy Operations, which oversees the electricity and solar programs at HCOG, has been vacant since August fifth of this year. “We’re very lucky to have Ms. Coleman on our team,” said HCOG’s Executive Director, Todd Ford.
“We’re excited to grow our energy programs. Sinead, with her history of strategic innovation and her background in sustainability is going to be a huge asset to the organization. Ms. Coleman comes to HCOG after three years in business development and solar advocacy at Solar City. Prior to that, she researched the effects of hydraulic fracking in western New York and cultivated support for a successful state-wide moratorium on fracking in 2013. She graduated from St. Bonaventure University in 2012 with a degree in Biology and a minor in Business Administration.
“It’s great to have the opportunity to work with such an interesting organization,” Ms. Coleman said. “I’m really looking forward to seeing how the energy programs at HCOG can be expanded in both size and scope.”
The Hampshire Council of Governments is a consortium of towns solving local problems by acting regionally. In 1998 the residents of Hampshire County voted to charter the Hampshire Council of Governments as the successor to Hampshire County. We are a body politic and corporate; our charter ratified by the voters and by Massachusetts General Law 34B, §20(b). Our offices are still in the same place they have been since 1662, at the corner of King and Main in downtown Northampton.
